I do not listen to the media all that much because I do not have time and I want to stay more focused on positive things. However it is difficult not to be informed about the Swine Flu since we have been hearing about it for quite some time now.

My full time job is at at Junior High and Senior High School. As of today we have 7 doctor diagnosed cases of the Swine Flu. One report was that the doctor said it was all the symptoms of the Swine Flu but to give it a proper diagnosis they would have to go to the county health department and be diagnosed there.

We have a great staff at our county health offices, but why would you want to go sit in a crowded county health care facility when you are ill? Even if you do not have the Swine Flu yet and you are ill and your immune system is compromised, would you go spend some time in a public health care facility? It is bad going anywhere when you have flu like symptoms or are running a high fever. It seems strange that a doctor would not be able to make the diagnosis.

That out of the way, I bet we are all wondering what we an do to prevent this. Just a few weeks ago we were hearing that students would not have to miss school when they had the swine flu because it was not all that bad. Did you hear these reports? Did I dream them? I am seeing that the negative press about the vaccines are still out there combined with more positive articles. Who and what do we believe? I am clueless on that one.

Drink plenty of water and get plenty of rest and wash your hands often. That is the best advice I have been hearing. What about vitamin C? What about Garlic? I am not hearing about natural remedies lately.
